Paper Bridal Gowns

One of the games at a bridal shower I attended recently was for three groups of ladies to make a wedding gown out of...white tissue paper, clear cellophane paper and tape, ribbon, etc. Yikes! I was amazed at the creativity of these ladies. Makes you wonder why anyone would spend all that money on the real thing!

And the winner was: The Bride in the middle...Congratulations Katie and your group!

This has been an unusual few and sorrow mixed together.

One day last week, a grandson of a sweet couple, lost his life in a car wreck. He was only 17 years. So sad. He left behind a Dad,Mom and two sisters among other family members. He left a testimony that he was a believer in Jesus Christ as his personal LORD and Savior. He was planning a missions trip with his Dad later this year to Haiti. It is a blessing to us who are still here that his heart was tender to the things of his Lord.

Last night we received news of another sudden death of a Godly lady killed by a drunk driver. She had taught at our Christian school some years ago and touched many lives. She also was planning a missions trip in the near future. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

In between these tragedies my husband performed a wedding, joining a sweet Godly couple together in marriage. A very sweet, happy time.

Three events of life marking bittersweet times.Isn't that life though? Happiness and sorrow. It makes one think about what your priorities are. We never know what is next in life. We can make plans but only God knows what will take place next.

It makes me think of the verse in James 4:14 "Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away."
