"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high God shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." (Ps. 91:1) “I will be a father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty."
(2Cor.6:18) “ I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.” (Rev. 1:8)

As a kid I use to watch “Superman” and think a lot about what it would be like to have unlimited powers. (“Faster than a speeding bullet – able to leap tall buildings with a single bound . . .” Do you remember?) Another way to say that would be to say a person was “almighty.” What would it be like to be almighty? Have you ever considered life without any limits to your power? Take some times in a typical life and view them if the person were almighty. No need to hire movers on moving day. You would never tire and nothing that had to be moved would be too heavy. Remember that long trip when you had to drive sixteen hours after packing the family into the car? Remember how exhausted you were upon arrival? If you were almighty you would have enjoyed the trip without even a yawn and upon arrival you would have been ready to let the vacation begin! How about that time when you were concerned for your safety and that of your family? No problem, if you are almighty, then every conceivable enemy is conquered under your great hand. Here comes some germs that carry disease, still no problem because there is no limit to your almighty ability to overcome sickness and death is impossible because almighty is life without beginning and end. No turn of events or circumstances could overcome you - you are almighty. When you speak it's a done deal! (As long as no “krypton” was found to use against you, your powers were secure - for Superman fans only)

Being almighty how would you want to use your power? Wouldn't you want to help and bless those you love? Wouldn't you want to provide for and protect your wife and children? Wouldn’t you have a concern for your nation? I'm sure you would use your power to benefit mankind in general.

Enough dreaming and make believe non-sense! None of us are almighty and in fact we are a very frail, sinful, weak thing. We come home from work tired. There is so much that we would like to do but seem helpless, weak, and unable to be all we should be or do all we should do. But wait....Don't we have access to our Almighty God?

Didn't He say, "Come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace (supernatural power) to help in time of need."

Friends our almighty God is in heaven looking down at His children going it alone and He is saying to us "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not."; He is reminding us; “without me you can do nothing.”; He has promised us; I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

So why do we keep going it alone? Why don't we come boldly? Why don't we call daily? Why when we are so weak and He is ALMIGHTY GOD, do we not hook into Him to receive power? Here are five possible reasons:
1. Unprotected time of prayer (Matt. 6:6)
2. Underdeveloped relationship with Christ. (Jn. 15:7)
3. Unresolved sin toward God. (I Jn. 3:22)
4. Unsurrendered bitterness toward man. (James 5:16)
5. Unbelief that God is Almighty and for us. (Mk. 11:24 & Rom. 8:31)

I must be reminded on a regular basis of my great need and that He alone has the power to meet that need through Jesus Christ my Lord. So let me encourage you to reconnect to our Almighty God and come under the protective shadow of those mighty wings knowing we are weak, but He is strong....yea ALMIGHTY GOD!
